During my time as a student I was building an artificial city of industrial felt, wood and paper. I used it as a setting for photography experiments and burned it down hollywoodlike in the end. Here you can see a documentation about the project, which took place in an old factory hall next to Münster. The text was written by myself and contains fragments from Gustav Meyrincks “Das grüne Gesicht”. The story is about a stranger (Hauberisser), who arrives in a city and begins to feel uncomfortable very soon. He locates the source of his paranoia in a castle like tower and sets fire to the houses surrounding it. In the end the city is gone in a firestorm and Hauberisser leaves for another city.
